Message question

Somehting I hadn't come across yet .
I just got two messages , one for a convoy and one that just said warship at 30knts .
Would that warship message mean an important/capital ship ?

kenijaru 03-02-09 08:13 AM

going *that* fast... it most likely is.

Kapt Z 03-02-09 08:52 AM

Hard to say.....

I've received reports like that from time to time over the course of several careers. I've been able to intercept three times and each ended up as a small destroyer. I sank two and couldn't get a shot at the third.

Never seen a enemy capital ship so you never know!:hmmm:

Task forces with BBs, BCs, CAs usually do about 20 knots regardless if they could go faster. When you get a very fast warship, it's a destroyer or a PT.

They might be PT boats....

or a carrier...

Your call

Alert messages. Your call or not?

From time to time we recieved notice on impending invasions and a request for all nearby patrols to assist.

How do you guys play this? I have joined in the fight whenever nearby but again I don't steam hundreds of miles out of my way.

Sometimes.... it is just too dangerous. D-day is practically filled with DDs

The invasion of Norway is always fun to get on over to. I heavily damaged the Rodney once in the fjords. I've never made it to '44 so I can't say anything about the D-Day landings

Oh well , I will never find out what the warship report was , worked out an intercept course and quickly ran straight into 3 ships that sank me before I could react.

That's why it's called "D Day"...
