SH3/data/cfg/careers question

Hello to all
well I'm still hanging in there-- I re-installed SH3 again and this time when I started a new career I didn't make any changes to crew etc while in port-- I just went on patrol with the defaults applied. Everything went ok got back to port and saved the game-- no CTDs .

I exited the game and went in the SH3 folder to look at the entries under careers and I not sure if it's right.
This is what I got

Careers folder/ Player/a sub folder named "0" with nothing in it and the following files in the Player folder

Careers_0
Crew_Career_0
Log_0
Patrols_0
Careers
Crew_Career_00
Crew_Career_10
Patrols

I opened the files with Notepad and all the Crew_Career files appear the same and all are 79kb in size.

The Patrols_0 files apearrs to have default info and doesn't show the sucessful completion of my first patrol where as the Patrols file does!

Are all the files ending in "_0" supposed to be in the folder named "0".

Would someone please be able to explain the correct structure of the Careers folder to me.

This is a great game but I would like to get to try and understand the career mode better as this seems to be where I having all my peoblems. All other aspects of the game seem to work fine-- it's just career mode that is causing me grief.

thanks again
chuck

The first number in a series is zero, not one in SHIII
And Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the help.

If everything is in the right place I will keep the Patrols happening.

Would it be a good idea to make a copy of my career folder after each patrol as I have read here about random CTDs which corrupt your career folder which means you have to start again.

thanks
chuck
