CPU Prossesor upgrade question.

Okay currently I am running an AMD Sempron 2800+
on a Gigabyte socket 754 board running 2 gigs of ddr
with a AGP Geforce 7300GT 512

I just found out that my Girlfriend got me an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ in the mail for my coming birthday (I guess all the complaining about my Neutered Athlon called a Sempron paid off:03: )

Anyhow does anybody have any idea what performance increase I can expect?
Currently my FPS with GWX 3.0 hovers around 21.

And also does having a dual or quad core have any benifits as I know that some sims (IL2) only run on one core.

I wonder where did your gf found to buy AMD Athlon 64 3400+ for socket 754 since I believe it's been long gone out of the market ? :hmmm:

in short: Dual cpu will deffinetly be better in performance and speed than single core, but quad core does not neceserilly means it's more faster than dual :)

A whole page of socket 754 procesors! Unfortunately they dont have the 3700+ that I want. Nobody does for a reasonable price. even used on ebay they go for hundreds!
