Cant launch SS-n-15 Starfish from Kilo.

Hello, I have been getting a “weapon not functioning” when trying to launch the SS-N-15 ASW missile from the Kilo’s in the quick missions. I classified the contact, (sub) correct depth (50-150 m) and speed (under 5) and set up the proper snapshot or S01 coordinates, and have 90% air in the tanks for launch. When I go to the orders menu on the bottom left corner to fire the SS-N-15 missile, it’s greyed out. I can only launch the missile from the actual weapons screen, by clicking on the red fire button, and launching the missile, but I immediately get a “weapon not functioning” message. I tried the same mission with the Akula, with the SS-N-27 missile, and the fire SS-N-27 on the orders menu is lit up, and I can fire the missile. Can someone help me resolve the issue. I have the latest v104 patch, I don’t know if that’s conflicting. Can someone help with this issue. Thanks, Jim.

The SS-N-15 has a very odd launch envelope. You, not the target, must be between 50m and 150m and not going faster than a certain speed (4kts, I think, but I'm not certain) in order to launch it properly. Otherwise, it malfunctions. The SS-N-27ASW doesn't share the launch envelope, so it can be fired from above 50m.

Could that be it?

It seems to me you did all right too :hmmm:
Just so you have some feedback.

If its greyed out on the quick launch screen its not within its launch envlope. Try changing depth by a meter.

I believe you need a range to the target before you can fire a Starfish, at least using the quicklaunch screen.
