Did I get a full tank of gas???

Started another patrol for U-572 out of Brest and as usual had the navigator give me several fuel estimates in calm seas at 8 knots, still within site of the French coast. The results all came back around 9400 km. I don't remember the figures for other patrols with the same boat, but this figure seems reall low.:hmmm:

I do have malfunctions/sabotage activated, but never saw this result before.

Had you dived recently? Recharging batteries runs one of the engines at flank speed.

what speed do you have set?

sabotage and malfunctions will result in fuel leakage manifested by an increase of fuel consumption at all speeds.

I usually cruise at 8 knots with my VIIC for the best fuel economy. Usually my standard routine is to request several range estimates just as I clear the approaches and minefields at Brest. Seas were calm. Not recharging batteries. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just this time instead of the high 'teens in range I received under 10,000 kms. Right now I've dropped down to 7 knots to get a little more mileage out of her, but we're talking a couple hundred km more at best.

Luckily my patrol grid is AM19 so I don't have that far to go. Won't give me much time on station though.
