If it continues at this rate we'll soon have to start putting our t-shirts back on :)

Funny thing is, I remember reading some of you here saying that we still have global warming since it was hot in Dec in the UK! :D

The person who said that was a blithering idiot because local climate in the short temr is no idication of a global long term trend.

Hey! Look! Snow!

Science don't know nothin'!

I am all for science, but what is flawed in scientific conclusions, is the big picture. Science and medicine gave us the wonders of life saving anti-biotics. But they did not see the ability of bacteria to adapt to the drug (Mendel's law). IMO I feel the scientist who are endorsing the notion of global warming being Man made are basing their views on short range analysis and are ignoring the geothermal history of the earth. Science is great, but tends to get tunnel vision and I think this is what is going on in these global warming studies.

Didn't take long for this thread to turn into a global warming argument  .

The worst weather is down south, When London gets it bad the whole world hears about it, it's daft. On Monday thay stopped all their buses and it was claimed that the snow was causing problems with the London underground, hang on isn't that under the ground :hmmm: . If we get nasty weather up north we're left to get on with it, we're lucky if it gets 30 seconds in the national news. Those southerners seem to think that London is the most important place in the world :yep: .

Dead-on there mate - down here they just don't know how to cope. In Scotland there's a chance of snow or freezing temps and they send out the gritters. Down here it has to be snowing heavily before these gits will send out a gritter - by then people are already sliding their cars into each other or phoning into work saying they can't get in.

I was one of the first out of our village this morning, with 4 or 5 inches of snow on the roads - people looked at me in amazement because I was even thinking of driving :)

...what? Doctors and scientists have known for decades that bacteria and viruses have the ability to evolve and build up immunity to medication.

I would agree, so long as we are both talking about the ones who blame it totally on humans.
