A few adjustments coming up...

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Links:
You can install with JSGME..
Install over RFB1.52 (18Jan09) only
check Readme's for info

-------------------------------------------------------------------

These adjustments apply to the latest RFB (patched as of todays date)
Pics are jpg so are a bit rough - you get the idea..:DL

1) New scope view scaling
Bow measurement.

Stern measurement..
http://www.vanjast.com/SH4Mod/SternMeasure.jpg

And 1x scope view... Not bad..:yeah:
http://www.vanjast.com/SH4Mod/Mode1x.jpg

2) New Scope Zooms (1x and 4x) FOV is ~ 32 degrees (historical), but I'm not going to get fussy about and extra degree.

1x Mode - Bridge funnel measurement is 1 Degree.
http://www.vanjast.com/SH4Mod/Zoom1x.jpg

4x mode it is 4 degrees ....:yeah:
(err!! Correction here - It's still one degree but 4 graticules of measurement..)
http://www.vanjast.com/SH4Mod/Zoom4x.jpg

So how does this help you...
Well when you do your target speed measurements manually, you require some visual accuracy, otherwise it's like going to sea with dud torpedoes :06:

I'll be putting these small adjustment mods soon on BTS, as well as my Nav mod which I must retest with all the new settings of the RFB patch.

Here's the new preliminary OBS scope with sextant installed.

More later

Here's the final 'scopes', with a tinge of red for night time use.
Attack Scope

Obs Scope with Sextant gradations for use with the upcoming Nav Mod.
You might be wondering how to measure 60 Deg - An extra zoom level is added to the Obs scope only. And measurring from 61-90 > The scope is allowed to be inclined to 90 deg vertical and the measurement is 60 + Angle....

:yeah:

Been a TMO guy all along, but I just put in RFB for a tryout and like the looks of this mod. Great work! The red lubber line and larger compass are especially to my liking. One question though.. What is the difference between the two gunner mods? The readme's appear to be the same. Thanks.

DeckGunnerPos - adjusts the 'CAM' files for the deck guns. this just moves the viewing port to the original stock position (gets that gunscope out of the way in 1x mode)

DeckGunReload - adjusts the 'SIM' files for the deck guns, changing the reload speeds. In 'stock RFB' reload time is a bit slow. Also adjusted (faster) the angular rotation speed of the guns.

DeckGunScopeViews - Changes a lot of stuff in the 'CAMERAS.DAT' file.
-Adds 3 zoom values to the deck gun - RFB had 2 strange zooms
-Scales the Attack/Obs/TBT scopes to correct proportions. Adds 3 new scope/TBT skin files with red gradations (for night viewing).
-Adds higher resolution Bearing indicator (that thing at the top of the views)
-Also adds a Sextant to the OBS scope for use with my nearly completed Real Navigation Mod. An extra zoom view added here for stargazing at the correct scale.

( I must finish this mod next :D)

That's it ... I think
:yeah:

Yes, by larger compass, I was referring to the bearing indicator. I do like the sextant too, it should be interesting when you gitt'r done. Again. Nice job !

You can currently use the sextant as it all working.. etc.
I'm still fiddling with the sunrise/set almanac, and the ship 'local time' clock.
