I am going with the Cardinals - mainly because they beat my Panthers! *Don't worry Panther fans - we won't have Jake "I throw high and behind" Delhomme forever.

My daughter reports that the entire township of Melbourne and Geelong (Victoria) will be tuning in to watch a local boy play.
Ben Graham, punter on the Cardinals, is the (supposed) first Australian to go to the Superbowl. Consequently, in that part of the world, where apparently the Australians are unable to beat even the Kiwi's at the moment :nope: they're looking for anybody to get a win.

I suppose I'll root for the Steelers because "Cardinals" is a horrible name for a football team, especially one from Arizona. I understand that the name has travelled with the franchise, but why not just rename to something that doesn't suck and maybe fits the state a little better, like the Arizona Phoenixes, or that would at least be alliterative, like the Arizona Apaches?


In any event, I doubt I'll enjoy the game too much because seeing the Steelers will remind me of my beloved Seahawks "defeat" in Superbowl XL, with all its' BS refereeing.:x :damn: :damn: :damn:

I heard otherwise - news reports outta melb with "experts" saying that noone will bother because we're in the doldrums so much from the pathetic cricket team that was selected.

besides, gridiron is too stop-start for my liking. Only part of it i'd like to see incorporated is the cheergirls!

Hope the Cardinals do. But I know Pittsburgh's got a tough d line

I voted who cares cos I'm a Raiders fan but I think the Steelers may just hold the Cards out.

Daughter has been in Melbourne/Geelong all week, back home in Bne now.

I called some friends already, Illfracombe (Longreach) Cloncurry, Karratha. They're all watching.

Someone asked me why I didn't just drive from San Diego to the see the game. :har:

I read that the ex-cat was in the team for his kicking.. they couldn't have chosen a player from another sport much better than to choose an afl man!!

Half time show was better then the first 29 minutes and 40 seconds.
