stealthy U-480
 

Hi,was watching the history channel last night.They were showing a documentary on the U-48O,possibly the world's first stealth submarine.It appears it was covered with a rubber coating.which made it undectable by sonar.To test it in action they sent it to middle of the channel in late 1944,were it sank four ships without being dedected then proceeded back to its home base still undected, Unfortunatlely BDU sent it back to the channel were it hit a submerged mine.Anybody have further details on rubber coated U-Boats:DLCody

I caught the last half of that show as well, I see you're also from Vancouver.

I looked into the corvette that sub sunk, HMCS Albernie, built right here in BC at Esquimalt, in case you're curious.

Interesting story on the rubber coating. Does GWX simulate the flapping/falling off sheets of rubber in SH3?

I'm also from Ontario.

I don't think the GWX simulates the rubber coating peeling off; never seen anything in the manual regarding that.

Actually, I dont like the new motto. I prefered beautiful BC myself. Its simple, true and humble, whereas the new one seems a little arrogant..

And yes, there does seem to be a large proportion of people from Canada & Vancouver in this forum...:hmmm:
