Its February 1940 in my first real game of GWX3. 6th Patrol in and i have a few questions for the community.

1) When does another sub other than the VIIA become available, 1st Flotilla if it helps?

2) Is there a way to fix the order medals are dished out? Ive got the U-Boat Clasp (not a 1939 issue) and the German Cross in Gold!! without even getting the EK II or EK I.Also received the U-Boat Badge after my 5th Patrol.

3) Can someone explain how renown is dished out? Is it based on ships sunk, a/c shot down and targets engaged?

4) What does DiD mean?

1. Assuming you mean you're curently in a Type IIA, the IID becomes available to the 1st flotilla in Sept 1940. The Type VIIC becomes available in March of 41. You may want to transfer flotillas in order to upgrade sooner.

3. Each ship sunk or airplane shot down awards you renown. See this post for renown values in GWX: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...9&postcount=11

4. DiD means "dead is dead". If you're playing a DiD career, that means that you don't reload an earlier save game if you get sunk.

If memory serves me correct the 1st only has the IIA and then IID until mid 41 when moves to France
Then uses the VIIC

If you want something bigger you can transfer over to the 2nd
Get a IXB
If you have enough renown

Renown is got from sinking ships or shooting down aircraft
Each ship has a renown figure in its cfg

This one the NKSQ - data\Sea\NKSQ_

Displacement=1960
RenownAwarded=60

Now you will only get a 60 renown if playing at 100%
Renown is reduced depending on realism settings

There is no renown for reaching patrol grid in GWX
You can reset that yourself easily enough

[RENOWN]
RenownReachGridObjCompleted=0 < change to 100
RenownPatrolGridObjCompleted=0 < change to 200
CompletedPatrol=0

Or whatever amount you fancy
Best be in port before making any changes and rollback commander if using
