I want to modify dds. file but don't know what to use

Hey everyone, today i was thinking to "improve" one of the dds. picture files in SH4 but the only program that i have is paint, and it wont let me, what could i use?

You could look into Gimp for altering that file. Check to see if it does alpha channels. I believe it's free.

http://www.gimp.org/

Photoshop is the graphics program king.....but mucho expensive.

Yes that would be the polite thing to do, I have made the mistake of not doing that when I first released my original uniform mod however, I did give the person credit for the original artwork. I will say this though if you are just editing something for your own personal use and not adding it to a mod for public release, then in all honesty I just change it and move on... but if I am using for a public release, then of course it is just common courtesy...

Little late, but Paint.net works well for editing .dds files also. And, like Gimp, it's free.

Alright, not too much to modify just a few tweaks, but hey the only place you'll find it is on this forum and nowhere else
