She probably stepped out because the majority of New York residents didn't think she was qualified for the job. She's waiting for them to realize that the majority of politicians aren't qualified for the job.

I'd venture to guess that not getting the job would be an embarrassment, and rightfully so. She is no politician. She just happens to have a name that makes everyone assume so.

Caroline and Teddy aren't the only Kennedy's in US politics. Patrick is a US Congressman for Rhode Island.
