Animated Water Detail problem

I can't change the level of Animated Water Detail in 3D options (off, low, medium, high). There is only "off" enabled and the rest are disabled. I cant' change it.
Wah t is the problem ? Is there any way to change it in one of the file of SC ?

My SC veriosn: patch 1.08, SCXIIc

Using an ATI card by chance?

Someone posted this long ago as a reply to my similar question, and it worked for me:

Hey, I'm very new to this game too. I've owned it for probably 5 or more years and never did figure it out (I'm not the sub sim kind of guy), but now I need something to keep me busy and this is new.

Anyways, I'm having this same issue with an ATI card, without the patch, and on Vista. I changed the desktop shortcut's target line in properties just like you quoted it (i tried it without the space before the dash but it wouldn't let me) and it didn't work. Does this fix only work for patched games? It's not too big a deal though, I still have to figure out how to do a simulated torpedo attack in the first campaign mission...:hmmm:
