I'm betting the state won't pay interest on the delayed payments but will instead collect interest on the money by retaining it for another month.

That sir, is a guarantee. I wonder if the state filed for an extension and was approved by the state residence? I'm guessing not. You can sure bet the banks got there fat stimulus check promptly. In fact, they got it and spent it so fast, no one knows what they spent it on. Obama is ready to dole out another 3.5 billion. Yes sir, lets spend our way out of this.

California out of money again!? How could it be!? It's such an intelligent and progressive state! :D
Well, at least we can rest easy knowing that Kalifornia-brand socialism won't have that effect on the rest of the U.S., because, y'know, it's like, not the same thing, or something.

From the article linked in the OP

Quote:

Chiang says his office must continue education and debt payments but will defer money for tax refunds, student aid, social services and mental health programs.
That covers just about everyone in the state except state employees. The last one might even cover many of the state and local employees (including elected officials).

The last one does cover state officials. Since Pelosi is from CA, she too will be covered.

Now we're really in trouble. If you think Pelosi is bad now, wait 'till you see her off of her meds:rotfl:

A great lesson can be learned from Kalifornia. I mean, they have more income in this tiny state than any country in Europe that I can think of, yet they have no idea how to manage it. Democrats always like to spend spend spend. Look where it gets ya!

That may be, but the state congress and senate are ruled by the democrats. The governor doesn't have complete control over the budget.

Having said that, I imagine Arny will be repeating a line from one of my favorite movies fairly soon "It's NOT a tumor!"

AVGWarhawk 01-17-09 06:52 PM

Come on...he is Arny...the Terminator. UZI 9mm with laser sighting...plasma rifle in the 40 watt range....you get the idea. :D
