SH3 Commander, a little advice
Ahoy, i recently installed GWX 3 and SH3 Commander but im wondering how much time everyone else spends in port after a patrol.:hmm:
I have chosen to stay in port for 2 weeks after each patrol, its December 1939 and im about to start my 8th Patrol already. As its early days of the war i havent come across much enemy shipping in the North Sea but I did encounter a task force off the North West coast of Scotland on patrol 6, sinking the Rodney and wounding the Illustrious and Nelson in the fight, as I had a few dud eels i was happy enough with that and returned home. I have also installed the liferafts mod which i think is a great little mod that brings real satisfaction on top of watching your target slip below the waves, and ive also installed Tomsens Sound mod which makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck its that good. If anyone can recommend any other little eye candy delights please post them here, im already so impressed with GWX 3 mod and my other mods that my crew are all standing around the boat with woodys!!! |
Can't remember the full name, but Thomsen also made one that lets the depth gauge to go past 260

Don't stay in port long. On my first war patrol (1939) I sank
8 merchants & 1 tug with torps and Deck gun. GWX Gold is the only simulation |
I use SH3 Commander's 'Randomize Days In Port' function. I've been in port for 30 days, and I've been in port for 5 days, all depending on uncontrollable (and therefore realistic) factors.

I also use Randomize days in port. Works like a charm. You never know when you're going to sail out.

It also simulates the frustration of say, missing both the Hood and Bismarck sinking.:damn:

This isn't really an eye candy addition, but Jimbuna's Gramophone pack adds a lot of atmosphere to the game. It's great not having to listen to the same 10-15 tracks over and over on a long patrol, and SH3 Commander's 'Randomise Gramophone Tracks' is a really nice feature. |
