GWX 3.0. A question of renown
 

Greetings to the GWX team.

First may I express my admiration with you guys and the work you have put into GWX to improve Slient Hunter.

I have got GWX 3.0 installed with no difficulties whatsoever.

Now for my question. Page 102 of the manual states that new careers will start with 1500 renown points. However, I have only got 500 points to start. I have started three careers, different flotillas, just to check and the result is always the same; 500pts.

Could you please clarify?

You only get the 1500 renown for completing the training course. In stock SH3 you started with no renown if you skipped the course, but in GWX you start out with 500 points. (Enough to acquire upgraded hydrophones) If you completed the training course however, you got the 1500 renown to start with. In GWX all you need to do complete one training mission to get the renown. (Navigation is quickest and easiest, obviously)

You should have 1000 in the 7th in case you want to sink the target ships - you will recieve a minus for them being neutral

And in stock you got 500 anyway for starting
Doing the training missions gave you an extra 1000

The GWX 3.0 manual clearly states on page 102 that "Stock Silent Hunter III granted renown points for completing training missions, with a maximum of 1500 points prior to starting your first patrol. GWX gives you 1500 renown points to start your career without having to take the training missions". So in GWX you should start with 1500 points irrespective of whether you have done any training missions. Like Telemon I have always started a career with 500 points so something is amiss, but in my opinion not worth worrying too much about.

Ah. Haven't played stock in a while. :hmm: Also forgot about the 7th Flotilla.

On return from first patrol just change the delta renown......cheat! :lol:
