Hell, the whole "Contract with America" thing has always been a farce too... It's always been and always will be an internal struggle for control of the Congress by the "ruling" party... and the rest of the country can go to hell...:shifty:

IMO, politicians exist only to satisfy themselves and their own agendas... Whatever "bright ray of sunshine" Obama "might" have created will be extinguished by the greed, dishonesty and inefficiency of Congress..

Alternatives?

All in all it's just another, brick in the wall.

Like what, a different species? Perhaps we should elect goats. We'd get about the same result and they could feed on the Whitehouse lawn and not require salaries.

Back to the 'good ole days' of democrat majority rule.

One alternative: Revolution. Another: Term Limits. Another: Reduce the salary and make it more of a public service than a career. But ya know, none are going to happen. In general terms, people don't really care too much about what goes on in the world around them until it's right in their back yard...

Until it's too late to do anything about it.
