History repeating itself..

They say that those that do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it.

Well here is Obama's version of the new deal

and for those of you that dont know of the original

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Deal

When will the american people understand we need less goverment not more.

Well, throwing liquidity at banks hasn't done much at all, so the government is removing the middle man, so to speak.

I give Obama credit. At least he has presented some goals. Obtainable? Not sure. Does the countries infrastructure need a face lift, yes. So, we see how it goes.

We already see how $750 Billion goes. Did squat. What all this will end up doing - worsen a recession into a depression.

The next package they are proposing - $775 Billion in economic stimulus. Wait till the average American sees what happened with the last one - they simply were paid their tax refund early. Except the rich - they typical owe taxes of some sort at the end of the year, so a clause was made that if you have to pay taxes, you don't have to pay back the stimulus money. They only people that have to pay the stimulus money are the ones that get a refund this year.

SteamWake, I may be wrong but posting anything from a blog and wikipedia can't really be trusted as reliable scources. Blogs are just opinions (usually from nutjobs) Wiki can be re-edited to say whatever you want

SteamWake 01-06-09 04:43 PM

Well you can watch the video in the blog and hear it in his own words.

As to the wiki Im pretty sure you will find the entry on "The new deal" to be pretty accurate. If anything Wiki takes a liberal slant.
