Save problems with GWX 3.0
Hi!
i have a saving problem with gwx. 3.0 . when i save the game and want to continue lets say next evening i can select my career wit sh3 cmdr and launch the game, but it crashes at end of loading my saved game. i did not experienced such with 2.1 i can without any problems start a new carrer and start one, its only saving. i use obly gwx 3.0 and sh3 cmdr 3.1. has anybody an idea? thanx much in advance! |
You're experiencing a common glitch with SH3 in general. Sometimes if you save too close to other ships, your game will crash to desktop. Sorry, can't help you get it back, but try avoid saving next to other ships and there won't be any problems

Before saving, dive, turn your engines off, go to the hydrophones station, turn up the ambience volume knob and listen. If you hear a ship, don't save. Also, don't save if you're less than 50km away from land.

hm, ok, never thought about this issue. but strange, i didi not experiened problems in GWX 2.1, and there also i just saved. sometimes even in convoy battles....

It doesn't happen all the time. But does your CTD happen to every save you have?
|
The save game bug is really hard to sort out
Some ppl never get it no matter what they do and others quite often Nothing has changed in GWX 3 that will affect you being able to save I rarely save in patrol but did yesterday and lucky I did as CTD later on way home ( my fault as emptied the message folder in mid patrol ) 3 times the save game crashed 4th time was the charm |
@ a very super market: well, i saved a campaign and tried to reload with no luck. i tried severel times until i gave up and started a new one ( both times 02.1942 7th flotilla). now i tried to reload this "new" one and got also this ctd so i search now for help here.
no idea why this happens now. |

The olde "save game CTD" nightmare!
I personally don't think it has anything to do with proximity to ships or land. I frequently save close to port when heading out on patrol and those early patrol saves never give me trouble. However, once I sink a vessel for the first time on patrol or if I have been attacked, then any save I make after that point seems to ALWAYS CTD. :damn: That's one of the reasons I play over the weekends now...start a mission on Friday night, leave it open all weekend, and end it in Port by Monday morning. |
