Corrupt career files
I'm running SH3 patched to 1.4b, with GWX 3, SH3 Commander 3.1 and the appropriate files for running it with GWX.
I've been a long time player of SH3, and never had a problem with the "protection system that is not to be named." With the release of GWX 3.0, I've reinstalled the game and up until a couple days ago, didn't have any trouble launching careers from SH3 Commander. That is until my computer would lock up during the "protection system check", which has never happened to me before. The only way to fix the problem is to reset the computer. After doing so, I go back to try and restart the game and see that on the career screen in SH3 Commander, it says "Rank: Error!" and "Flotilla: U Flotilla Saltzweidel, Error!" The game launches, but crashes to desktop halfway through the loading screen. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the solution to the problem to ah...perform some "maintenance" with the "protection system that is not to be named"? |
Hm... this happens to me every so often. Try uninstalling everything (SH3 commander included) and reinstalling. Were your saves working before this happened?

Yeah, the saves were working fine. It just seems to go haywire if the protection check gets hung up, which happens ever so often.
Makes me mad that I have to reinstall everything as I just sunk the Hood last night. :hulk: |
Here is a link....provided by the unmentionable, so I can't see how this should be problematic :hmm:
