Just a few questions please
 

• Got a few extra dollars to play with and am planing a conplete system upgrade . From MoBo to case screws and everything in between . I cant decide weather to stay with nVidia or switch to ATI . I know this is very oppinated , so I'm trying to get some of your feelings on this and will make a desision in a week or so . So please let it fly !
• I've read the manual with GWX 3.0 and I might have missed it ( sorry if I did ) is GWX 3.0 compatable with LIFEBOATS/ROWERS , the WATER STREAM MOD , the SEABED REPAIR MOD and the LONGER REPAIR TIMES MOD .
• Again I skimmed over the GWX 3.0 manual today and might have missed it as mentioned above but these are really cool mods and would like to use them

I have just built a new system (2 months ago):
ASUS Rampage Extreme x48
Intel C2Q 9650 3.0ghz
4gb OCZ RAM
BFG GTX260, 896mb
SoundMAX X-fi

I am not happy with the nVidia drivers and how they have restricted the application of settings, especially AA. I have found workarounds, using nHancer, for FS9 and SH3...but it still galls me. Since my MoBo is X48 (can't do nVidia SLI multiple graphics cards) I will probably replace the GTX260 with ATI card(s) in the near future. I bought the GTX260 because "everyone" said it was better for FS9...haven't seen any evidence of that after the "contortions" I had to do to get AA to work. You will find that SH3 also requires a workaround for the latest nVidia cards. Do a search in the SH3 forum for "nhancer AND nvidia".

As a WAG I'm thinking the Seabed Repair mod will work...but I'm still downloading the last GWX bin file so I have no idea...I hope it does. I can't yet speak to the others. If you read the release announcements it sounds like the only major improvement (and a large one, at that!) is the incorporation of OLC's water environment improvements...and they look substantial, to say the least! How this affects mods like the "lifeboats and debris" and "MarhkimovsOceanMadness_v2", remains to be seen.

These things will take some time to sort out...so I would council patience. The team has provided us with a great supermod...and released it on Christmas eve! I have posted a few questions but I will wait for the answers as I think they deserve a well earned rest.

I'm sure you'll appreciate how recent GWX3.0 is.

As far as compatability with third party mods....who knows, they were never tested.

GWX have always and will always maintain the same position "you use third party mods at your own risk".

TBH, after a bit of festive rest and recuperation there will probably be one or two mods I will tinker with.....but that is a personal choice.
