hi there,

does anyone has some info on real-life behavior of wire guided torpedos in re-attack situations. can you really make acrobatic manuvers (eights..) like in dw?

merry religious happenings:doh:

You can make substantial adjustments to the weapon via the wire IRL. As long as you don't break it. Some may require the override of ASH (Anti-Ship Homing) which is something that is never done without tactical necessity.

hi rip,

do you happen to know the cable breaks at certain tight angles?
and by override of the ASH you mean the equivalent of pre-enable / disable homing in dw? because this seem to be extremly usefull in the game.

thanks for reply

The cable breaks by a number of things. Both based on what the weapon is doing and ownship. Doubt the actual details matter that much. Simply there is a chance of losing the wire.

ASH simply shuts down the weapon if it changes course by more than a certain amount. Meant to stop the weapon from reversing at ownship. I'm pretty sure everyone uses such a protection. They just call it different things.
