:rotfl:Never did like "The Boss" much, anyway. Sounds too much like a character out of Grand Theft Auto.

I liked born in the USA. this thread got me thinking though...It seems to me that most politically active famous people tend to always support the democratic ticket and have a great dispassion for the republican party. I have seen this since Regan. Not sure why though?:hmm:

Did you like it the same way Reagan liked it?

Because Republicans seem to prefer their celebrity supporters to run for office. And because they are usually artists, and artists are liberals, by and large.

Not sure I remember that hit my refresh key. :hmm:

Reagan famously used Born in the USA as a campaign song, mistaking it for uncritical patriotism. He looked a bit silly when Springsteen came out to say he didn't support Reagan, and that had Regan been listening, his song is about a Vietnam Vet who returns home, only to suffer hardships and poor veterans benefits. It's actually a fairly critical song about the US of A.

AAaaanywho, my original point is simply to point out the incredible misrepresentation in Steamwake's statement that Springsteen was inspired to write out of "hatred for Bush".

It says that nowhere in the article, despite Steamwake's use of quotation marks. The article is very short. And in that short article, it says...

Quote:

Springsteen says he usually doesn't write that quickly, but that the excitement from "Magic" left "more than enough fuel for the fire to keep going."

I'll tell you. The left is more inclusive of many different people be it black, gay women or whatever. The right only cares about white straight protestant people that live in the south or midwest for the most part. The south and midwests WASPs (white aglosaxon potestants) just aren't the only parts of the nation. In fact they are becomming fewer and fewer.

Go ahead and flame me as usual but the only music entertainment that caters to nationalism and good old fashioned Jesus and whiteness is country music. Country has been going down rapidly in popularity in the past several years. Country stations have been going off the air rapidly and being replaced by spanish language stations.

Just ask the Dixie Chicks, they found out first hand how redneck country music listeners are.

Wow! That's a stereotype right there. Gotta love how inclusive and how PC and non stereotyping the left is.
As replied by a a hetero catholic filipino.
And there are homosexual and ethnic minority republicans, believe it or not.

Both major parties here in the United States are "Big Tent Parties" and thus both parties have a wide range of people within those tents. Not all members of that party agree with one another on every single issue, however, they tend to be share more in common with other party members than those in the opposing party, which is only natural.
But to stereotype one side, claiming that you are more inclusive, to defend against another stereotype is just wrong.
Thus I am able to talk to some democrats who I agree with on some issues, and disagree with on others, and other democrats who I disagree with on all issues. And I am sure that the same can be said from someone who is standing from an opposite position from me.

I told you alright, it just wasn't what you wanted to hear. Reality bites. If you learned anything from the failed campaign of Failin and McLame you would know calling everyone you disagree with a "terrorist" is a failed strategy.

I can tell you what you want to hear. The rich liberal entertainment elite hate you, they hate your family, they hate your god, they hate America. There, that make you feel good? Can I get a "hell yeah?"

DT, wasn't the boss around GTA? I know whatcha mean though. I liked a few tunes, not an album listener though. I still like the "single" days with he centerpost on the turntable so you could stack up a dozen or more singles.

The "Boss" went off the deepend IMHO when he broke off from the E Street Band.
