Just signed Mark Teixiera - 8 years, $180 Million plus signing bonus.

This comes on the heels of signing C.C Sabathia for waaaay too much money, and A.J Burnett. Total off season spending so far? About $400 Million on 3 players.

The fact that my friends in NYC can no longer afford season tickets in the new stadium comes as no surprise. :nope:

Baseball is a sport desperately in need of salary caps...

Amen to the baseball salary cap. Although, looking at what the Cowboys have spent on egos and what it's gotten them, salary caps don't help much either, it seems.

Yeah, Yanks not even making the playoffs last year, etc. My team, the Phils, won it all, and it's not like we have a team full of superstars. Well, we do now, but we didn't then....Ryan Howard not included...

And if you notice, the have so many damn games in a given year. This is to sell enough seats over and over to pay these salaries!
