G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra (2009)

Yes not a cartoon but a movie.

I've grown up with this stuff when I was a kid. Early GI Joe was good before it was ruined.

I wished I never gave away my characters because their worth a few bucks now. :damn:

Well another movie looking good. Some serious actors in it.

I had the GI Joe's from the 70's. Somehow Joe always ended up in a burning GI Joe vehicle after blistering over a cliff. My Joes took some abuse. Eventually their charged plastic bodies ended up on the roof clogging the gutters and pissing my dad off. :rotfl: Oh well, Cobra was after my time with the GI Joe fun. However, I never had transformers but I did watch the movie! Liked it a lot. So perhaps this one will be just as good.

Yup AVGwarhawk I know what your talking about. How many I and my brother plus cuisines busted up and burnt or blown up hehehe. All them vehicles that where smashed. Good memories. Now we try to collect them when we can. ;)

First few cartoon where quite violent when they released them. They changed it later on when all people became indestructible. That for me killed it.

Burning heaps of tanks and jets and the guys always got out safe. All them laser and bullets and no one killed. lol To cheesy.. I wonder if they will keep that in the movies? :hmm:

This was the GI Joe Capture Copter I had as a kid. Poor Joe could never keep from crashing not to mention the pontoons would not keep his copter afloat. He was always shark bait:rotfl: I would press a button by the engine in and out to make the rotor turn. Most times it would hit me in the face. Oh well, that was before lawsuits. I wish I had it today. It goes for a pretty penny.

Isnt Action Man another thing?

There was G.I. Joe & Action Force, which were the same thing AFAIK.

Same here. Best toys I ever destroyed by having "too much fun" (and being a semi-pyromaniac didn't help).

Will have to keep an eye out for the movie.

A fact I never let my mother forget. When I left for the service in 1977 she took all my Joes and gave them away! :o

I'd bet I had several thousand dollars of Joes and accessories including the Space capsule I even had a German and Japanese GI Joe.

Same as our GI Joe, right down to the scar on his cheek. Christ, by the time I was done cooking the guy in gasoline, that scar was nothing. :o

I remeber when you could get them in SS uniforms and WWII Japanese, British, and Austrailian military, aside from WWII US Army, AAF, Navy and Marine versions. They had one in SS uniform at a toy show about 10 years ago, and the cost was like 2,500 hundred for it. They were something like 3 dollars when I was a kid.
