"WarNews.upc"

Has anyone done anything to this file? I think it could be a nice extra touch if it can be implimented. Someone indicated to me it may be an unfinished feature like the emplems.upc file. The file is under UPCdata/UPCcampaigndata

I don't wanna waste time trying to implement this if it cant be done, but if it hasn't be tried I'll see what's up. Any hints you guys can provide is appreciated.

There is also a IntelligenceUnits.UPC in the same location. I have a feeling that at one point in development the desk you can see on the left in the captains office was going to be used for the intelligence units file, but was abandoned, possibly due to time restriction. The only intries in it are for the Yamato.

If this was to have been implimented it would have made since for the Yamato to be in it since it was an unknown ship when it first was spotted. Perhaps this feature was to give you some insight for ships not in the ONI Manual. As far as the warnews.upc file, I think it was what was supposed to be where the top tonnage is located.

Interesting. It's unfortunate that the rec manual doesn't have some sort of date requirements. Meaning that there should be no entry for a ship before its appearance date in the roster.

Keltos, I do somewhere. I just started unpacking some things I've had in storage and found my archieve external HDD. I'll send it as soon as I can locate it.

Exactly. The intelligence file, is laid out, with 3 Yamato entries a month a part in 8-42. Didn't the yamato first appear right before that?? (Midway?)

I think the recog manual we have was thrown together and originally we should have gotten something more inline with the ONI manual. In the stock game the posters on the right appear like an ONI manual page.
