I don't know how my wife would take it when a sub appeared in our backyard! It's almost up there with what happened a few years ago when the navy was keeping the last oberon subs operational.
They needed a replacement part for one of the last subs still in service, but they weren't been made anymore. They relized one sub that had been cut apart at the waterline and used as a memorial in the town of Holbrook in NSW still had the part required attacked to the sub! So in the middle of the night they came down to the town with a salvage team and took the part they needed!:yep: I don't think the locals were impressed! |
