Drumbeat, shmumbeat!
I just noticed something - I returned from a patrol (GWX-older version, SH3C) and instead of the usual 30 days ashore, my boat was readied for Jan 5th 42, and assigned to very shallow waters NNE of Norfolk, Va. Yipee, says I. I get to beat the drum!
This is what I get instead - bad weather all the way there (took me 3 1/2 weeks to get there), escorts buzzing all over and a/c too. No tankers and everything running in convoys. Time? first week of Feb. Excuse me, but isn't that a bit off? By the by, I reloaded the same mission twice and got the same result, same weather. I wanted to make sure it wasn't me being paranoid. This looks a little scripted. |
I don't know for sure, and I'm not at my own computer so I can't look at the Mission Editor, but if you're near Norfolk then I would expect a lot of ASW traffic. That's one of the main Naval bases on the Eastern Seaboard. Most of the good hits were made away from the Navy, in between the big harbors. As for weather, that is what it is, and reloading a saved game can actually make it worse.
You might want to give this mod a try: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ight=stop+rain |
When you say 'older version' I presume you mean pre GWX2.1.....that has the weather fix incorporated into it http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

Yes, the pre-GWX2. I'm going to upgrade to a new pc and then install the new version. Glad to hear that there is a weather mod.:)
