GOCHIN means ‘Bang and Sink’. This film was made in 1942 and is an actual and genuine documentary of one of the war patrols of I.J.N. submarine I-10 in the Indian Ocean. Everything in this tape was filmed as it actually happened, including the rescue of a crewman of a Norwegian freighter and also the periscope view of the breaking up and sinking of an Allied steamer. On this patrol, I-10 sank four ships.

There is a lot of Imperial Japanese Navy music, sea songs etc. throughout this tape.

An A Type (I-9 Class) with Flagship facilities and a floatplane, I-10 displaced 2,434/4,150 tons and her top speed was an impressive 23.5 knots. This photo is I-10 as she departs on this particular war patrol.

This is an extremely rare film and shows life on board an I.J.N. submarine as it really was. The master of this tape came to us from a friend in Japan who was a movie producer in Japan in the years of the war. He had this film in his personal vault and he sent it to us. It is not available anywhere else in the world.

I use the windows media player to see when the sequence I want starts, then write up the sewuence in Pazera, export the mp3 file, then use 4musicmp3 to convert it to ogg.

I guess the ogg files could replace the original firing/diving sequences, I still need a japanese speaker to tell me what they say !

Why the new thread?

keltos01 12-12-08 04:42 PM

this one to release the sounds that are done so that people can know, the other for the WIP

just added another sound that's not in the other thread btw.

Sorry Keltos, I guess I didn't understand. I thought this thread was also a WIP on the Japanese voices, which you already had a thread on. I didn't realise it was a release thread for a mod.

made a video that covers the torpedo launch.

IJN sound mod v 1.0

I've been busy with the sounds mod, made a new decent music file that plays during the menus, but the other sounds I made : .ogg and .wav for the speech and the submarine sounds make the game CTD :damn: when the music file alone is fine ?

ok so it causes CTD when loaded up, the music files are ok and don't cause ctds, but the .wav I made to replace the current submarine sounds and the .ogg for the speech seem to cause CTD on my computer.

any help with this appreciated, those are genuine I-boat sounds from a propaganda movie shot during I-10 's 5th war patrol.

are there different types of .wav or .ogg like there are of .jpg ??????
