Snow in Houston!
Yeah, the exclamation point is warranted, it's always exciting to see actual snowfall in H-town. :D Coming back from a Christmas party last night, the snow was covering the ground. Neat! Interesting, it snowed 8 inches to a foot Christmas eve just four years ago here. That's very unusual, the last time I saw real snowfall here on the tropical Gulf Coast was 20 years ago, now twice in 4 years. I guess the conditions have to be just so.

Snow at christmas would be a bad thing here in Australia. It would make Bondi beach look bad! Guess I'll have to make do with a BBQ of steak and seafood, salads and cold meat, followed by some cold drinks as I sit on the beach going brown! Tought job but someone has to do it!;)

http://www.click2houston.com/news/18252031/detail.html Vid of people driving there...
When it does freeze and snow that far south they aren't as prepared for it. It's not like in the north where they have all of the equipment and people ready every year. The big thing about H-Town are the bridges. "Everything is bigger in Texas". This means bridges as well. There's tons of them, and they're huge. It's not the snow that gets ya, it's the black ice. Best thing to do when it freezes there, stay home, build a fire, drink heavily. That always worked for me. |
I thought it didn't snow in the south....looks like I was WRONG!!
