type XXI ??? no engine...
 

Hi Everybody,
i have a question and i need help.....
i'm in july 1944 and i changed flottilla ( from 12th to 3/11th )because i wanted to try the xxi uboat.
so i got the boat, i loaded new torpedos and everything else that i coud do to prepare myself from my next patrol. the base is now LaRochelle , but when i tried to start the engine and get out of the port, nothing happened...was a message 'unable to comply " or something similar.
i tried some different ways to start the engine, give her speed , move the crew...but nothing...
i'm using GWX2.1. SUB COMMANDER and some mods.....the game was fine before. I came back to port with my type IXD2, changed sub and now i'm stuck there.....please can you tell me what i can do ??? thanks a lot

Do you have the sabotage and malfunctions box checked in SH3 Commander? This could cause your problems.

You can also investigate by going to periscope depth and trying your electric engines.

i can't go at periscope depth because the engine won't start. you can move the arrow in the gauge for ahead whatever speed, you heard the order repeated , but the indicator remains on 0. no life, no speed, so nothing, not even the persicope depth. i'm not a modder or an expert in proggramming.....unfortunatly for me....i don't know what's wrong....

look at the barracks (filing cabinet in the back) in the career in port screen, like where you upgrade your U-boat. go to the filing cabinet in the back and CAMS (check and make sure) there is crew in it, I dunno if the crew transfers properly in the game, so that may be your problem

if there was a problem with the number of sailors he wouldn't even be able to load the patrol.

Ooops, sorry, inside joke.

If you go to the screenshots thread, you might see a destroyer in port, sitting up on the dock.

When things go strangely, it is usually attributed to Bernard.

ha ha ha ....good joke.....anyway i tried everything.....it's the sub. at the beginning i tought that could be something related with the base of the 3rd flottilla ( la rochelle), so i transfer myself and i used my old IXD2. everything was fine. i started a patrol, i exit than i chenge my boat with the XXI, i increase the crew ( 1 officer and petty off. and sailors, total number) but when i was eady to go....the message on the screen....."CANNOT COMPLY"...and taht's it.....no movem,ent of any kind. it' should be some kind of conflict....i don't know.....i never reached the middle of 1944 before...so i was exited about the new boat....shame on me.....

Ah...i forgot another stange thing.....even when i have 1 officer ( a mechanic!) and every spot covered in the diesel room i receive a message as there is not enough people in the engine and the green bar never fill all the space.......:damn:

but... if you are planing on using a XXI shouldn't you be in Bergen?

Well, try starting a new career and see if you can get the sub to move(you could even try different careers with different boats, to isolate the problem), and if you can´t... try reinstalling :dead:

yeah ....i will do that. it's the only way to see if there something wrong with the sub....actually i'm stiil in la rochelle....maybe it's the base....i will try....i'm not giving up with this....

Wasn't there a "bug" that if you transfered to a certain base in Southern France with an IXD2, or an XXI, you could not move the boat?

I have had this experience many times. Try to leave the port and end up sinking my own boat while in the dock.

i made another partol with my old boat and now i'm in trondheim...i will try to trnsfer to bergen and take the XXII .....IT'S ALMOST THE END OF THE WAR...SO I HOPE I CAN CHANGE FLOTTILLA ...IT'S DEC 44.....NOW.....
