You should update the drivers and CCC. It's a pain, but since the CCC sucks balls, you don't have much of a choice!

I had this problem too! A while back!:shifty::hmm:

I found out that there are instances where the CCC messes or is messed by other applications!

i have tried several drivers and catalyst versions still the same

so how did you fix the problem

*sighs*

my antivirus wiped out my CCC... i had to uninstall the mother and teach my PC to walk again (aka. this will take about 2 hours)

This may not solve any ati-issues but I recently updated a pc to xp/sp3, and then tried to update the ati-driver/CCC. After a few hours of waisted time I still couldn't get CCC reinstalled correctly to launch, nor could I rotate the 2nd. monitor. Finally I resorted to uninstalling sp3 and there was a .net update that seemed to allow the CCC to install/function again.

Hi guys.
I'm not having the same problem as the OP, but my question is ontopic, at least as far as the name of the thread is concerned.
I have an ATI 4850 card. I use the rezfix and, until a coupla days ago, was running the game at 1680x1050 with 8xAA - forced via the CCC - applied, and it ran really smooth and looked amazing.
However, the AA has now stopped working, for no good reason I can think of. I've been racking my brains to try and figure out what the relevant variable is but come up with nothing. One day I was playing, the graphics were fine, I saved the game and exited. The next day, I load up my campaign and...no AA :-/
I took the usual first step of reinstalling the cards drivers, no good. I've tried SHIFT+PAGE UP/SHIFT+PAGE DOWN and that doesn't sort it back to how it was. I've used google and subsim search and found similar problems for nvidia cards with appropriate solutions, but nothing which can be applied to my card.
AA is working on all the other games I play, so I'm sure its an SH3 issue. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Hope no-one minds me asking this question since it is ati related,I'm running Win XP,SP3,2 gig or ram,pentium4 3.00 chip and an ATI radeon 1950 pro card, could someone advise on some settings for the CCC please.Had it running fine before then had to do a complete system re-install again:damn: the current settings make the game look good and are just guesses from what I was running before since I can't remember, but I did notice last patrol that in heavy rainy weather the FPS was taking a knock, and that didn't happen before:hmm:any ideas greatly appreciated, sorry to go off topic:oops:

Shameless bump and settings at the moment,

AA.X4
AF.X16
Catalyst A.I. standard
MipMap Detail. Quality
Wait for vertical refresh.setting 3 out of 4 available
Adaptive AA. Quality
Direct 3D Settings. Support DXT Texture formats
Open GL settings. Triple Buffering
Refresh rate. 75hz

A few of these I have no Idea what they do:doh:so any assistance in setting-up for maximum enjoyment of my beloved GWX would be greatly appreciated:up:
