Efficiency + experience?
If you have a full efficiency bar on a compartment or the bridge does it matter if some of the crew in that station are newbies? Does it help to have more experienced men on duty if the bar is already 100%?
I was wondering after I lost my boat last nite. We were on the surface just after sunset and got bounced by a aircraft who plastered us and sent us straight to the bottom. I had been trying to be realistic and mixing up some veterans with newbies on the bridge with no experience at all. The bar was at 100%, but by the time they saw the plane we had already suffered severe damage. I'm wondering if having the entire bridge watch be veterans would have made a difference? |
I have the same question, regarding the other compartments as well. Especially, How will be helmsman (command room) experience effect handling?

In my humble opinion crew experience almost has no matter at all if you use high time compression rates (above 64).
In GWX 2 once I put my best crewmen on the bridge and at cloudless night about 2 a.m. they saw Trampdampfer in 1500 right in front of our bow, fortunately they also did not detect us. For the second time I was marching towards Bergen base at 1024 time compression and… suddenly heard shells flying sounds and time compression felt to 16. I’ve jumped to the bridge and saw cruiser in my estimations about 400 metes store board… I’ve changed my tactics to 64 time compression and as the consequence inexperienced watchmen started to detect vessels at good weather conditions as far as 7000 meters. But the best way is to watch the seas by yourself. I’ve mentioned by at daytime I detect ships mo frequently then my watch officer, at nighttime his eyesight becomes unexplainably better in both stock SH III and in GWX. |
