Request Escort??
 

I read somewhere that you could request an escort back to base when you were within range, but I don't see any such option in the Radio screen...

I got really close to the Kiel harbour, and still couldn't find an option to Request an escort. Ended it by hitting escape and "dock at Kiel".

Btw, I'm running GWX 2.1

I don't think you can request an escort, but the escort vessel is constantly sailing in and out of harbor. You can wait and follow it once it appears.

Yes, well I'm aware of the Escort out of base. Maybe I confused the Request Escort thing with Aces of the Deep

In GWX2.1 the escort sales in a cyclic pattern....just await it's arrival and follow it in http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

I didn't know they had salesmen aboard escorts...

In SH3/GWX I don't think so, but in Aces of the Deep of course. Some ideas from AOTD would make SH3 better, but may be in SH5?.

Yah AoD once the escort arrived you got the cutscene of your boat pulling into port! :arrgh!:

Never have the chance to play AOD or CAOD... :cry:
May be the next SH5 CAN learn with older experiences from sucessfull games as AOD! :yep:

Command : Aces of the Deep even had Milk Tankers. If you ran out of fuel, you could send a distress signal back to BDU. The sub would arrive after a few days.

Pity it wasn't implemented in vanilla SH3.

Sub Sims have come a long way from Windows 95 but they forgot some of the good stuff along the way.... :nope:

It was an option in the original release of the stock game, but the first patch out removed the option as it was a bug fest!

As mentioned above, GWX does give you escorts in and out. You just have to wait for them to finish drinking and get steam up first!:doh:
