The story I heard was from Peter Ustinov who met them when Kieth Richards had a cold,"try this", said Mr. Ustinov handing him a blue paper wrapped sachet of Beechams powder. Apparently Richards snatched it sniffed the contents into his nose and thanked him for it.

You should what some of the filthy crackheads who invade our building nightly get up to. Yesterday morning I caught one in the act of defecating in the elevator so I grabbed her by the scruff of the neck, forced her to the floor & rubbed her nose in it. Gave her a kick is the *ss for good measure. If you want to act like an animal then I'll treat you like one!

Yep, a good kick under the butt may help them getting the message.
