Just a quick post to say hi to everyone in the forum.

I have been lurking for a time, while I polished up my submariner skills enough to know what is and is not a dumb question.

Just a quick one to start:
Scenario: I have two merchants both on parallel courses. I have set up in ambush and have set up the TDC on the lead maru.

Is there any 'simple' way to set the fish for the second maru before it starts evading?

At the moment I am having to calculate the angle between the two merchants and send my first fish out with an offset. This has been a bit hit'n'miss.

First off welcome to the forums

As to your question what I do is to find seperate solutions for the two ships and determine their distances vs run time for the torpedoes. Usually pretty simple as they are on the same course, same aob, same speed, only variable is the bearing.

I then fire at the furthest target first, giving me time to plug in the solution for the second target and try to calculate its release time so that they both reach their targets at the same time. Sometimes Ill set the first torpedo aimed at the furthest on slow and the second on fast, this gives me ample time to pull it all together and get that gratifying boom boom within a few seconds of one another.

The catch is that if they spot the steamwake it will spoil both solutions. The closer the better

Thanks Steamy old boy. I'll give your suggestion a go.

This bit makes me queasy. The best place for a fish is wedged in the hull of a maru, not wallowing around in the ocean. Damn things have a mind of their own dontyaknow! Give em too much time and they get all self-destructive. That's why I shoot from 600yds or less.

But still, thanks all the same.

Sailor, pass me that tea and my pipe ...
