[WIP] KOTR San Francisco Radio Mod

Yes, fresh off over a month of uploading all my stuff onto Bts Mods, I'm working on a new radio station! Can you hear the horrified screams of hard drives out there? If you can, seek professional help at once! :rotfl:

Right now I'm just downloading the files I'll use. It'll probably be another month or so before I start actual work. But I wanted to go ahead and announce it in case anyone else has thought of this, so either they or I can stop. :D

KOTR will be the radio equivalent of the TVLand cable TV channel. In this case, radio shows from before the dates in my current radio mods. Besides episodes from 1940, the 1930's, and even the 1920's of programs already in the current stations, I'll also be including series that only aired during those years. A few series, like The Great Gildersleeve, only began airing in the 1941 - 1942 season or later. Those will not be included in the station. There'll be no AFRS programs included because they didn't exist before 1942.

Since I intend that my "oldies" music be used with this station, it will not be subdivided by year. Music will not be included, both to lower the eventual file size, and so users can use whatever they may want to.

This is of course an entirely ficticious station. During that era, programs were only broadcast once, and then never again. There were summer replacement shows instead of reruns like on TV today.

In order to make programming easier, it will not start until January 1st, 1942. The idea is that this is a new station that was scheduled to start then, and went ahead despite the war. Depending on how many episodes I can find, some weekly shows may air more than once a week. Shows like Lum and Abner, which aired three times a week during the '30s, may instead be everyday. If I can't find enough shows to fill the allotted time frame, I'll probably air one series, then replace it with another. Shows almost certainly won't air on the weekday they did originally, so if the show for example mentions Sunday, that won't be the actual day.

Besides whether or not you want such a station, I do have one question: News. Not of course from the '20s and '30s, but should I include some war news? And if so, from which network? CBS has the most news, NBC the middle, MBS the least. Or should this be an independent station, with no network news at all?

Well, there it is. Comments welcomed!

I have started work on this now. I had to trash my original schedule I worked out for programing because it didn't work out like I wanted. I think I've got figured out now though. Since I had to start over, it'll be awhile before it's finished.
