What do I do now
It is summer -40 and I intercepted a small out going convoy southwest of Ireland only ecorted by a destroyer and a corvette.
Weather is fine 2m/s wind, light fog, no rain visibility good. It is 9 in the morning and I know its a no moon period. Perfect conditions for a surface attack at night. So I start to trail wating for darkness, suddely 4 houers later out of the gray heavy fog, medium rain 7 m/s wind visibility 0. I know they are out there of my port side, I just cant see them, I can hear them though. Do I continue the trailing hoping that the weather gets better or do I steer 45° port and begin a submerged attack? Any suggestions? Im playing GWX 2.0 Commander. Type VII. |
What speed are they doing?Id keep going to P Depth and get a fix on them with the hydrophones and shadow them closing the distance using the fog as cover shoot a salvo the high tail it out of there. Then try and pick them up again and attack again.Surface attack with a corvette and a destroyer is a tad ambitious if not fool hardy, but hey its your U boat.LOL

Get far away, surface and get the h*** out of dodge.:yep:

I would keep contact with the convoy and wait. During the summer, weather frequently changes, so it is possible that the visibility improves very soon.

I am with Mr. Earp. Get the heck out.

Tried and failed.
The convoy was going at 7 knts speed so I kept going submerging every half hour 4th dive and I lost them so I double back, dive and there they all are and it turned out they turned south passing behind me. Probobly a Gibraltar bound convoy not US as I hoped.
So I speed up to get closer, suddenly we are detected by the escort, I cant see them but they sure as hell can see me. Dive they loose contact surface spoted again so I gave it all up. |
just SINK THEM ALL
