This is my second work, U-505 Lion

Do not mix this U-505 Lion skin with my previous U-505 work because this is totaly new skin builded up from scratch.

Would be great to have the 2nd Flotilla emblem on the front of the conning tower and Harald Lange´s shell emblem on the sides, but as far as I know, the way SHIII renders texture to the objects, this is not possible!:cry:

Yes, i tryed to add shell emblem on sides but without any better result so i deleted them from texture. Maybe one day some good modder whoud make 3d CT of type IX compatible with adding emblems on frontal portion of tower. I wonder who could do this.....hmmm;)

I found these two pictures from U-861, a IX D2 Monsun boat under the command of Jürgen Oesten, returning from Southeast Asia to Trondheim in Norway on the 19th of April 1945. Interesting to see how "worn-out" the boats looked after those long patrols,
far from shiny and new!

It looks pretty good.:up: There's a photo of U-190 on page 115 of Another Place, Another Time by Werner Hirschmann which shows the boat returning to Lorient from an African patrol on June 20th, 1944. The caption reads that the salt corrosion was so severe that you could poke your fingers through the metal in places. I saw your boat & it made my think of that photo.
