Question for WB..."renown replacement"?
 

My first patrol, starting on 08/01/39 and requiring a patrol in BF17 was completed. I reached the patrol grid and patrolled it for 24 hours. I showed both these requirements complete. Yet, I did not receive a single point for renown upon return to base? What have I done wrong? Is there a JSGME order that the "Renown Replacement" mod must be installed in? While I'm at it...what about the "GWX2.1 Mission Orders"? Here's my present JSGME order:

Let me do some digging about the renown replacement issue. I have a feeling that renown will only be awarded after 1 Sep (per stock SH3) but the GWX crew are the only people who can answer that question. I assume that they are busy beavering away towards their 24 Dec deadline.

Renown replacement seems to be in the right place.
Mission Orders only replaces one file so unless you have another messages mod enabled it can go anywhere.

You should get renown een before Sept
You wont get any renown for returning to base as that never worked in game
Patrolling grid yes

Is the file structure for that mod ok ?

Mods\GWX2.1 Renown Replacement\data is the way it should be
But sometimes can end as
Mods\GWX2.1 Renown Replacement\GWX2.1 Renown Replacement\data

I believe you have hit on it...mine is:
\MODS\GWX 2.1 Renown Replacement\WB's Renown Replacement\data.

I will make it "\MODS\WB's Renown Replacement\data" and get back to you.

Now we just need a way to enter renown modifcations in scientific notation.

I wonder how many medals, promotions, and u-boat upgrades you can get with 10.0+E99 renown points?

It's easier to reduce the cost of all upgrades to nil renown.:yep:

Or, better yet, make them cost a negative amount so you can actually earn renown by spending it on awards, crew, and upgrades! :D

You know, the renown replacement mod doesn't seem to work with Longer Repair Times mod.

Is there a way to get these mod's to kiss and make up?

I thought you had installed h.sie's patch of the sh3.exe (which amongst other things, stretches repair times by a factor of 60)

this means you don't need to Longer Repair Times mod
available here (in fact that won't work together properly)

You need to pick just one of the 2 solutions above.

If LRT is clashing with this renown mod then all the more reason to go with h.sie's patch if you can.

Does the LRT overwrite the basic.cfg? IIRC the Renown Replacement mod is just the GWX basic.cfg with the renown rewards edited back in. If you overwrite that file with a version of it from a subsequent mod that doesn't also include the edited renown rewards, you've undone everything Renown Replacement did.
