EA Forum Ban Will Now Mean EA Game Ban

Quote:

"A post on the EA Support Forums from APOC, online community manager for Electronic Arts, outlines a new policy for their new forums, saying users who earn a ban based on their behavior in the forums will be locked out of all of the EA games tied to that account: 'Well, its actually going to be a bit nastier for those who get banned. Your forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account, so if we ban you on the forums, you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you'd actually be banned from your other EA games as well since it's all tied to your account. So if you have SPORE and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your SPORE account would be banned to. It's all one in the same, so I strongly recommend people play nice and act mature. All in all, we expect people to come on here and abide by our ToS. We hate banning people, it makes our lives a lot tougher, but it's what we have to do.'"

Looking forward to the lawsuits flying on this one.

Are game companies like EA deciding that it is perfectly ok to screw over the people that shell out hard earned money?

Class action maybe?

One thing is for certain. I will no longer support EA. I was looking forward to crysis on my new PC but alas I can settle for Farcry 2.

Well, if you just acti civil and behave, you have nothing to worry about. I have no sympathy for people who do idiot stuff in games or on message boards and then get banned.

You do know that "If you did nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about" went out of style years ago right?

While I go along with banning a$$hats. :yep:

I don't go for giving a game company that much power and control. :nope:

Thats abit harsh.

The only game ive been permantly banned from was FPS - Vietcon. When playing this game online one night i decided to use grenades in my tactics it worked really well until the complaints start coming in for me to stop throwing nades around, hey i'm getting the kills i can't stop now besides their was no server rules stating grenades not allowed. Anyway i went offline next day when i went to go back on i found my IP was banned from ALL servers! Not just 1 or 3 but the whole friggin lot! :nope:

Cry babies! :yep:

Its Great! I mean of course theres no such thing as corrupt moderators!

They won't be adding random rules to their forums and getting people banned! Nope of course not!

No, EA won't ban posters for posting negative comments, of course not!
