This may be a false memory but I seem to remeber someone saying if you peel sellotape in a dark room you can see flashes from it.

Produces some very interesting cosmology theories as well, such as that x-rays originated during the big bang when the sticky tape holding the original singularity together ripped apart. Which leads to the fact that the current universe started simply because God used a poor-quality brand of sticky tape in an effort to keep it together :p
