Floor settings not working
With latest patch and lwami latests (3.08), I found that floor settings ain't working. We were playing mp with my friend against against AI. There was one sub near my teammate, so I said to him to go under 250 feet, and set the torpedoes floor to 200. After launch, my teammate said that they are targeted to him, but I thought it's just because enemy sub was so close to him. Well, after some time my teammate got hit, with my torpedoes. He was under the floor setting, so what just had happened? :hmm:

No one?
So it must be a bug in lwami some kind. Very bad thing. |

Where in the LWAMI readme do you see ANYTHING about changes to the floor settings? Hint: nowhere. So why would you assume that floor settings work any differently in LWAMI 3.08 than they do in stock DW? Maybe instead of assuming that changes were made that you don't see in the readme, you should use the floor setting the same way you'd use it in stock DW, since there is no indication that it would work any differently. And we already know that if you put a torp 50 feet under the keel of a neutral in stock DW, you kill the neutral. Got any evidence that floors work differently? This is what it looks like when you shoot a torp with a floor of 900ft against a 688I at 1400 feet (DW 1.04 + LWAMI 1.08): http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/1479/ceilingya2.jpg Acquired, homed, and passed right overhead. Where's the bug? |

The only way I could see you getting away with that one is only if you didn't activate the torpedo till it was well past your buddy. |
Now i have some answers. :p
Sorry to provoke answers, this time it worked. From DW manual: "Floor: Sets the depth below which the weapon will not go." So, how it really works then? How much have to be the depth difference between neutral sub and active torpedo? |
