After installing Sh3 on my Computor I then went aand tryed to install the 1.4 patch but while installing a message appears says " this program cannot update the istalled version Shilent Hunter III EMEA v1.0 to 1.4 Because of the following reason.

C:/Program files/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter III/data/menu/en-help. : unknown Version

What do I do now?:damn:

there are 4 diffrent patches http://www.silent-hunteriii.com/uk/updates.php check the read me and the virsion of your silent hunter 3 copy before u apply the patch

Delete both en_menu.txt and de_menu.txt prior to installing the patch. :up:

First, make sure you're using the correct patch.

EMEA is for the European/Middel East/Asia version of SH3.

Also, make sure the you use the DVD patch for SH3 if you installed it from a retail disc, otherwise use the DOWNLOAD version.

So, if you had the US DVD version of SH3 then you would need to install the US DVD PATCH 1.4b.


If you do have the correct patch, then the error might just be caused by a hiccup in the installation. If that is the case, uninstall SH3, reboot your computer, and then re-install the game.

If you're installing SH3 on a PC with Windows Vista, you'd better read the sticky listed at the top of this forum section.
