How-to JSGME GWX!
Rather simple actually :)
1: Install SH3 and patch(es). Don't run it. 2: Run GWX Installer, point to anywhere but the SH3 folder (nice easy to remember folder is a good idea, I used "I:\" personally). 3: Install to there and just click ok on the warning message. 4: Download another copy of JSGME (latest link is around here somewhere) and install it to your SH3 folder. Run it once but just close it straight away. 5: Find your 'non' install GWX folder and copy the data folder to the MODS folder now created in the SH3 folder. Rename it to Base GWX or something so you know it's the standard GWX. 6: Go back to the GWX folder you installed to and copy the folders out of the MODS folder into the MODS folder in SH3. 7: Install any other JSGME ONLY mods, if you're not sure install it to another folder than SH3 and copy to the MODS folder. 8: Activate GWX FIRST! 9: Have fun |
:-? Erm, what about the game files that the installer deletes *before* it installs GWX? They're removed for a reason. ;)
Basically, what you've outlined is a set of steps that if followed WILL result in BOTH an inaccurate installation of GWX AND random CTDs. My advice: don't hack things unless you understand FULLY how they work. ;) |
I was surprised it was that simple. I can't find anything untoward in the installer script either. I have tested it on two entirely different systems and the only problem is still that annoying ASW trawler that likes to bounce a lot... I still can't harbour raid if they're there! That did happen before anyways. I haven't just done this and posted an ADHD style result!!! post :)
