SH4 Random Map

Howdy all
it's been some time since I have been in here.
I recently reinstalled SH4 and added the 1.5 patch.
A problem has occurred, where in Multiplay mode I am unable to host, and when My buddy hosts a game I get booted from his server.
Now the other Multiplay missions work just fine, just the random generated Maps for Multiplay do not work for us,I have gone into my modem and opened all the port's according to the game Manuel, am I missing a port that needs to be open ?
================================================== =======
Ports
Outbound TCP Remote Port 3074
Outbound UDP peer to peer ports 3074 - 3174
And ports 19000 - 19002
================================================== =======

The game was a fresh install with the 1.4 patch added, then the new 1.5 patch.

Any suggestions would be appreciated .

Thanks

Umm you two have 'compatible' versions? Same revisions / mods?

Seriously no idea never used MP in SH4 might want to ask in the multiplayer section.

Yes

Yes

Both games are Patched the same exactly, if they were not you would not even be able to see one another in the ready Lobby.

We have no problem playing the missions, that are set up with the Multiplayer game, however, the Random Map mission generator for Multiplay does not work properly.
And simply both are version 1.5 installed off a basic game disk, and the Uboat 1.5 patch was added .

no solution but you dont need patch 1.4 anymore, 1.5 patches the game from stock v1.0 to v1.5

Thanks

I appreciate that
I, myself was able to join a game who did use the random game generator, but my buddy however was not able too, this tends to lead me towards an issue with his install ? or a Port setting ?
Not certain what it is ?
He supposedly opened all the required Ports .

Thanks
Charlie

I wrote Ubi about this problem but they had no answer.

:hmm: Odd that it worked. Any idea what settings your host was using when he/she succeeded in starting a random game? How many players got into the game? Was the host playing with the patched original version or the Gold version?

U-4053 10-12-08 02:07 AM

No Idea?

There were three of us who attempted to join, my buddy lost connection as soon as the game started .
Also I have not been able to host any games, but have no problems joining games.
I have all the proper Ports open to allow multilayer connection.

If you have a wireless connection and want to host, you probably need to fiddle with more than the standard port settings.

Since you've managed to remain connected during a "random" scenario, you've accomplished more than most players. Possibly, the disconnects are caused by the "randomizer" selecting a ship or scenario not found in some players' game files. Which is why I'd like to know which version (download, DVD expansion pack, or Gold edition) you're using. And if you've installed any mods.

Also, this is a shot in the dark: have you played the U-Boat campaign yet? (I'm wondering if doing so creates either a new file or an entry in an existing file that might be used in a random MP scenario.)

Don't use Wireless

I have DSL

And With this Install of SH 4 I have not played the U-Boat Missions yet.
I installed the game from a DVD purchased at Wal Mart, and downloaded the New 1.5 patch from ubi soft for 9.95.

My Buddy and I tried to join a game created by someone else, I was able to play and stay in game but left after I found out my Buddy was Dumped from the server.
For some reason he and I cannot play the Random Generated Missions at all with him hosting.
We can still however play all the games which come with Multilayer, except the random.
I have checked, and rechecked all my ports, and they are as open as the Holland Tunnel.

Are you using any mods at all?

Try this:
  • Start a game (any War Patrol or Quick Mission).
  • Go to the Torpedoes Station.
  • Click on any torpedo.
  • Post what you see in the ON BOAT window at the bottom.
Some players get more information than others ... not sure if this is an indication of incompatability between versions of the 1.5 patch but it could be.

I see Nothing

I don't see anything in that Box at the bottom .

:hmm: When you highlight (left-click) a torpedo (either loaded in a tube or in storage), you should at least see the torpedo type listed in the bottom box. If not, then yours is a third type of listing found on the torpedo screen:
  • Type of torpedo only.
  • Type of torpedo and related parameters (speed/range/propulsion).
  • No information at all.
Maybe not related to the MP problem ... but it's hard to tell. Hard to troubleshoot.

Ok

When I click a Torpedo I get some info in the box down below.
I do not get any information when I click any of the other objects , such as Deck gun Machine Guns etc.

How much info? Just the torpedo type or torpedo type and corresponding data?
