Heartbreaking News for Battle of the Atlantic types.

That's a shame. Are there no other available period ASW craft?
|
That is sad. The more museum ships we can have the better.

disposal after twenty years as a fire ship. theres a Riverff on Dryland In thailand I think as a drill ship. there may be a few more but not many of the size and certainly no other Black Swans and further to that the only surviving member of Walkers Group. M |
A shame that it has fallen through, a ship with a proud history and a reputation to match.
|
I wonder how much those fine fellows in the land of sand were trying to squeeze for something that is of no obvious use to them anymore. :hmm:
|

I would bet a dollar that it was the same price as a fully equipped Halifax brand new out of the box. However I do not know I was never privy to such details. M |

It occurs to me, they should take the angle that its archeologically significant
to British culture and via appeal by World Heritage have them send it home like it was King Tut's Treasure. ( for only transport costs ) ( a thought ) |
even better, maybe they could trade it for king tut's treasure.
