Just hundred tons
 

It's been long since I last came to the forum and even longer since I had any time to play - but I got my first 100 tons... of campaign total. Well, I'm still a newbie, remember?
By the way, I was wandering if instead of an Iron Cross I shouldn't get a downgrade since I missed a battleship! I was assignet to patrol a gird west to Rockall Bank in the winter 40/41 so I went for a little trip to Liverpool, gathering a few gun actions, when a task force was reported. I got spotted when trying to attack an Erzfrachter escorted by an armed trawler at dawn, then shook him off and left to try to intercept the battleship. Same scenario: escorts spotted at dawn, dived, then I got detected when running to get on position. I spent two hours of game time on the seafloor waiting for the destroyer to leave, then scored a 10k Grosser Frachter on my way home. Damn, I can't get on position to attack a convoy in 40, isn't it pathetic?

Oh, one thing, am I right that marks in the observation scope and in the attack one are the same (playing OLC GUI Special) so I can use my large scope, count the marks, down scope and then use the whiz wheel?

Congratulations! And don't worry. First, you'll get better over time. Second, most historical Kalheuns weren't terribly successful in intercepting convoys!

1.Dont do what i did and get greedy for Tonnage(i sank........a lot)Its best to run away and live to fight another day.

IIRC, in OLC GUI Special each mark on the obs scope equals two marks in the attack scope.
