Now you tell me ... (Grrrrrrr...)

RFB+RSRD

Last night I was running a few missions and getting low on fuel. Oh well wont be able to complete our last assignment. Time to head to home base at Brisbane.

Plot the course and off we go. After a couple of weeks at sea we close to within 600 miles of Brisbane. Double check the plot and sail the final leg. I close to within about 150 miles when I notice the map icon had changed  Yes it waited till I was within 100 miles when it changed. No op's radio traffic, nothing, Just the changed icon.

I zoom the map way out and hey look at that ! New home port is Midway :damn:

Sigh... stock up on beans its a long trip :rotfl:

I had the same thing happen to me (Surabaya changed to Freemantle). I barely made it back. Fired the XO and senior radio operater and had them "Arrested" as sabateurs.....CH

Midway??? I thought for sure you were going to say Fremantle. I hope that Brisbane was still available to refuel at least.

Doh ! I was based at Freemantle

Whatever the plan is to swing around the North tip of Austrailia with a stop at or near Darwin then the long haul accross the entire pacific.

It seems to me the game has always delighted in doing this to players since it came out. With the ability to refit though it is mostly a nuisance rather than a disaster. Imagine if you couldn't refuel?

It would be game over...

This is the first time Ive had a base change while so close to my original base. Typically it happens while out on patrol and I get at least some sort of notice. :hmm:

We made it to midway after topping off at Darwin with little problem and fuel to spare. Thats a long trip at 9 knots :arrgh!:

Nunya 09-17-08 08:58 AM

I've had the dreaded "base change" twice. The first time from Surabaja to Fremantle. I was about 500nm from Surabaja when the change order arrived. I was already low on fuel and crawled into Fremantle on fumes.:o

Steamwake: Got your PM, sent you another.:yep:

Task Force 09-17-08 05:43 PM

Same thing just happend to me. Base was changed from Manila to Surabaya. I was in a S boat.:shifty: just got there on fumes, also had no torpedos.:D Sunk three ships.
