Tokyo Wan. Where is it?
I received this intel telling me that a TF or convoy would be headed to Home Waters and gave me a date and a locaton "300 nm SSE of Tokyo wan" or something like that.
Problem is, what or where is Tokyo Wan? Tokyo bay? |
A quick (not thorough) googling on the subject suggests that you're right. It must be Tokyo Gulf

I don't know if you're running mods or not but I have wondered about many of the flash messages telling me there is something somewhere or will be somewhere. The coordinates are sometimes downright impossible (middle of China for instance) or the name of the place isn't marked on the map or I just can't find it w/o tab/alt'ing & doing a Google search. I end up simply ignoring anything that isn't marked by an icon on my map with specific instructions to me.

One of my greatest achievements in this game has been,at least to me, the development of the mental ability to completely block out these transmisisons. To simply just ignore them. Now I only read the NEWS that drops TC to 1.
It was hard ignoring that flashing White symbol for a long long time. Yep really hard to resist peeking but I finally won out. :yep: I always have seemed to randomly run into more traffic than I can deal with... without all those interruptions...even with limited contacts mod enabled. Of course it might be an entirely differnt story if I were using one of the mods that actually limits ocean traffic and you spend a great deal of time crusing "empty oceans." :shifty: |

I do remember way back when, before the patches, you would occassionally be assigned to patrol locations in the middle of land. Or was that SH3 :hmm: |
Well I'm using RSRDC, so all these flash messages aren't just there to clutter up your log...
|
I always read the flash traffic. Might notify me of a nice convoy nearby. Nothing like some escorts hunting you to get the blood flowing. :yep:
Brenjen; Sure you're not just reading the coordinates wrong? They've always been spot on for me. :hmm: |
